GardenRouteNet is a wireless internet service provider based in George, Western Cape, South Africa. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to GardenRouteNet. "You" refers to anyone visiting this website or submitting their details through it.
What we collect
We only collect information that you choose to give us. That is:
- Contact details: your name, email, and phone or WhatsApp number.
- Address information: suburb and street address when you request a coverage check.
- Plan preference and notes: the package you are interested in and anything else you tell us in a message.
- Basic technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, page visited, timestamp) kept for security and diagnostics.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers on this website.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and qualify your address for coverage.
- To schedule an install and provide the service you have asked for.
- To keep you informed about the rollout in your area (you can opt out at any time).
- To meet our legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers or unrelated third parties. We share only with the service providers we need to operate (for example, our email provider, our form-handling provider, and our accounting software) and only with the minimum information they need to do their job. Each is bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
We may disclose information if required by South African law, by a court, or by a regulator with jurisdiction.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as your request is active plus a reasonable period afterwards for follow-up, typically up to 24 months. Records attached to an active account are kept for the duration of the service and then for the period required by applicable tax and regulatory law.
Your rights under POPIA
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to:
- Ask what information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete inaccurate information.
- Object to processing in certain circumstances.
